The French based automaker Peugeot has decided to put some light into the case and has announced that its new 4008 will go on sale next year, after it will officially be presented at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
According to the car manufacturer, the new 4008, based on the Mitsubishi ASX, will come with four engine choices, two petrol and two diesel. Peugeot says that its gasoline powerplants for the new 4008 will be the 1.6 liter (116 horsepower) and the larger 2.0 liter (150 horsepower), both of them mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the 2.0 liter has the optional CVT available. As for the diesels, Peugeot is offering the choice between the 1.6 liter HDi (112 HP) and the 1.8 liter HDi (150 HP), both of them mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
The French automaker isn’t offering any extra details about its powerplants, except the fact that almost all of them will be fitted with the stop / start system and the new 4008 will be offered in both two and four-wheel drive.
The Peugeot 4008 is expected to be officially unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and its future customers will be able to finally buy it starting from the second quarter of next year.
