The French based automaker Peugeot has recently launched the first images with the 408 model for the emerging European markets.
After launching the new Peugeot 408 in China not too long ago, and with this model also being manufactured locally, the vehicle is once again placed into the spotlights with the car manufacturer releasing the first images with what is supposed to be the 408 aimed towards the emerging markets in Eastern Europe. Peugeot says that the first countries to get the “all-new” Peugeot 408 will be Russia and Ukraine, and the first one is also getting ready to assemble the model.
Peugeot is currently saying that the 408 model won’t be launched in other European markets, except Russian and Ukraine, but this might actually be a strategy well put together by PSA Peugeot-Citroen. While the Peugeot 408 should stay in Russian and Ukraine for now and not make into other European countries, the South American continent is getting ready to receive the French model too.
The Peugeot 408 will be officially presented to the public at the Moscow Auto Show in October 2012 and it will be offered at start with two petrol engines, the 1.6 liter and 2.0 liter, which will be joined by a diesel unit soon. The 2.0 liter engine will be mated to an automatic transmission. More details on the model will be announced in Moscow this October.
