The new Peugeot Bipper has recently been named the 2011 City Van of the Year at this year’s Fleet Van Awards, after beating all of its competitors.
“The Bipper is a terrific light commercial van and thoroughly deserves to be the ‘Fleet Van City Van of the Year 2011’. Winning this prestigious award is yet another demonstration of the importance we pace in product excellence with good customer support and after sales service support”, said the Peugeot Fleet Director, Phil Robson. “This was a closely-fought contest, but the Bipper was a clear overall winner, assisted by the prominence of Peugeot’s renewed focus on fleet support and after sales”, added the editor of Fleet Van, Trevor Gelken.
As a reminder, the Peugeot Bipper has been in production since 2008 and it’s 3.864 – 3.070 mm long, 1.704 mm wide and 1.721 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2.513 mm and a total curb weight of 1.286 kg. The Peugeot Bipper is powered by a 1.4 liter gasoline engine, which is developing 73 horsepower, or by a 1.4 liter HDi diesel engine, which is generating 68 horsepower and has a peak torque of 160 Nm at 1.750 rpm, but since September 2010, the 1.3 liter four-cylinder diesel engine (1.248 cc) has been introduced with its 75 HP and 190 Nm.
