The French based automaker Peugeot has recently announced its plans to introduce the GTI Surfboard Concept next month, during the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Peugeot is trying to attract a wider array of customers to the brand, probably those who are still looking into the original 205 GTI and are moaning and as part of the new marketing strategy, the carmaker will officially present, during the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the GTI Surfboard Concept. This has nothing to do with cars except for the fact that the company says that inspiration for designing it has been drawn from the brand new 208 GTI.
“Commissioned to coincide with the presence of Peugeot at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed with its thrilling on stand Flowrider Surf Machine, the Peugeot Design Lab has produced a unique ‘GTi Surfboard’ Concept. The design was inspired by the thrill from driving Peugeot’s latest performance products, most notably the new 208 GTi and also saluting the new RCZ R and exclusive Onyx Concept Car”, as the carmaker is saying in its official press release.
The new Peugeot GTI Surfboard Concept has been created by the Peugeot Design Lab and it incorporates wood and carbon fiber. The two materials are separated by a clean cut which is creating a so-called Motion (carbon fiber) and Emotion (wood) contrasting surfaces. The surfboard will be used to promote the Peugeot Design Lab.
