Peugeot has recently pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the Onyx Concept, which will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Paris Motor Show on the 27th of September.
After starting its life as a simple rumor and then leaking in a few images not too long ago, the Peugeot Onyx Concept has been finally unveiled ahead of its public debut later on this month, during the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The Lion marquee wants to attract a large crowd at the French automotive event and in the center of attention will be the Onyx Concept, which is expected to hit the production line in the nearby future.
The Peugeot Onyx Concept is getting carbon fiber throughout its body, integrated molded seats in the cabin and a carbon chassis. All of these features add up to a total weight of just 1,100 kg. Peugeot says that the Onyx Concept is powered by a 3.7 liter V8 engine which is producing 600 horsepower and by an electric motor, generating 80 horsepower. A lithium-ion battery pack, which is recharged from brake energy, is also fitted onto the model and power is being sent to the rear-wheel drive through a six-speed sequential transmission. More details on the Onyx will be announced in Paris.
