The French automaker is looking decidedly ready to officially lift the wraps off its second generation 3008 crossover, as the rather explanatory teaser shows.
The teaser image has been darkened but one can still make out the vehicle’s front design. The new generation 3008 has decided that crossover credentials are too… crossover for them and thus ditched the pseudo-MPV appearance. We now have a regular crossover styling and we can see the improvements are already obvious. Of course the teaser is treating us to the upscale and expensive GT version which is being built at PSA’s Sochaux factory in France. More interesting is the fact that our 3008 teaser is not coming courtesy of the automaker. Instead it has been outed by French company Focal – which is playing in the field of high-fidelity audio systems. This is due to the collaboration between the two companies, meaning the 3008 will bolster a premium sound system specifically developed by the Saint-Étienne-based specialist.
The 3008 is also the first model to present itself with the second generation of the Peugeot i-Cockpit, packing a fully digital 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, fully customizable and with an almost flat top steering wheel so drivers can get a better read of the instrument cluster’s dials. The new 3008 is packing PSA’s EMP2 architecture, meaning it’s the upscaled version of the 308 compact hatchback. This means it will most likely have the same wide array of turbocharged three- and four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines sending power to the front axle or to an optional all wheel drive arrangement.
