The French based automaker Peugeot has recently released the first teaser images with the 208 T16 race car, which will compete in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
The new generation of the Peugeot 208 is giving birth to some of the most interesting versions ever, including the new GTI hot hatch or this T16 Pikes Peak racer. The model is being considered one of the most interesting in its class, and some have even compared the GTI variant to the original Peugeot 205 GTI. But this news isn’t about the GTI, it’s about the brand new race car based on the 208, which is named the T16.
The model will compete in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and it will enter the Unlimited Class. The photos posted below are showing a possible carbon fiber exterior, with a side exiting exhaust system, extended side skirts, a massive rear wing, a roof mounted air intake and Michelin tires, amongst others. The cabin has been stripped out and it’s coming with a carbon fiber racing seat, a roll cage, alloy pedals, Alcantara wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, digital instrument cluster and more. the Peugeot 208 T16 will be driven by Sebastien Loeb, in the Pikes Peak competition.
