The French based automaker Peugeot is planning to develop a limited edition of the 208 GTI out of which only 54 units will hit the market.
After the all-new Peugeot 208 GTI has hit the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in a concept form and with the final production version of the hot hatch being revealed just a few weeks ago, ahead of its public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show on the 27th of September, the model is entering our news once again. Peugeot has announced that the 208 GTI will get a limited edition with only 54 units, along the standard version of the hot hatch. Additional details on this limited 208 GTI edition are unknown for the moment.
Peugeot says that the 208 GTI has lost 165 kg (363 pounds) compared to the 207 GTI and the model is getting a 1.6 liter turbo engine, which is producing a total output of 197 HP and 203 lb-ft of torque, 22 HP more than the 207 GTI. The unit is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and it’s getting a revised suspension, firmer steering, anti-roll bar and all of these changes help its 0 to 62 mph sprint to be made in under 7 seconds.
