BMW unveiled two weeks ago its new 3 Series model range. But now, Audi has updated its A4 model to compete with BMW’s best-selling model.
Like the 3 Series, the A4 is the best-selling model in Audi’s line for 39 years running with over 10 million individual examples sold, so any type of update is very important for the Germans.
On the exterior, the styling changes are suitably Audi-subtle with more of an arch in the hood, some front grille revisions in style and colors and a gentle redesign to the front bumper. The taillights reflect the shape of the headlights, and in combination with xenon plus have homogeneous strips of LEDs.
The tail lamps have also been subtly reworked. Almost all the exterior panels have some change or the other, but they’re evolutionary rather than revolutionary. [more about the new 2012 Audi A4]
Best economy will come from the A4 saloon 2-litre TDI with 135bhp, achieving 67.3mpg and 112g/km of CO2. However, the BMW manage to get better fuel consumption – 109g/km of CO2 and a combined fuel consumption figure of 68.9mpg (BMW 320 Efficient Dynamics).
You decide who’s the best…
