The French based automaker Peugeot has recently revealed the 4008 crossover, and the model should hit markets worldwide in the nearby future.
After the car manufacturer has revealed the 208 GTI and the 208 XY concepts, ahead of their official debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March, Peugeot has decided that time has come for the company to fully reveal the 4008 crossover, even if this model won’t debut at the Swiss event next month. According to the automaker, the Peugeot 4008 crossover is actually based on the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport platform developed for the United States, and the model is 170.9 inches long and 64.2 inches tall.
Under the hood, the new French crossover is available with a choice of four engines, two petrol, the 1.6 liter with its 115 horsepower and five-speed manual transmission and the 2.0 liter generating 150 horsepower mated to a CVT transmission, and two diesels, the 1.6 liter HDi developing a total output of 115 horsepower mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a larger 1.8 liter HDi, which is coming with 150 HP and the same six-speed manual transmission. The 1.6 liter petrol unit will be the only version of the 4008 to come with two-wheel drive.
Peugeot says that the new 4008 SUV will be available at first in Russia and Ukraine, and markets like Australia, New Zealand, China, Europe and other locations will soon follow, rising to a total of more than 50 countries.
