The Indian based automaker Tata Motors has recently revealed its newest creation, an electric minicar named the eMO, which will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 Detroit Motor Show.
According to the car manufacturer, the Tata eMO isn’t an electric Nano, even if there are plenty of similarities when looking at the two models. The automaker has chosen to place the Tata eMO electric minicar into the spotlights by revealing it ahead of its official debut at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and the model should revolutionize the electric segment, theoretically anyway.
Even if the Indian based automaker Tata Motors has revealed the eMO electric minicar ahead of its official debut at the over-seas automotive event, the company didn’t release any details on it and what we see is what we get, except for a fact: the Tata eMo will be cheaper and lighter compared to other models in the electric car segment. Even if the manufacturer says that there aren’t any similarities to the Nano, the model doesn’t have a fifth door and the cargo is accessed from the rear passenger doors.
While the Tata eMO electric minicar is coming with a futuristic exterior design, the price tag isn’t that futuristic and it will be set around 20.000 USD. Sadly this is all we know about the Tata eMO for now, but more details will emerge once the model will be officially presented to the public at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
