Piecha Design introduces the Mercedes-AMG GT-RSR to the public image

First shown a couple of months ago, Piecha Design’s monster of a Mercedes-AMG GT is being brought to the 2016 Essen Motor Show for the first public presentation starting November 26.

The Mercedes-AMG division presented this year the R iteration of the GT – and they were quite busy because they also added an open-top version (though not in the top R specification). But Piecha Design’s RSR aims to beat all of them with its 612 hp stable – which is why the tuner’s latest creation is being showcased once more in a fresh image gallery. The model gets a complete aerodynamic body kit with everything from redesigned air intake to a huge fixed wing and a diffuser add-on to complete the picture of the back alongside the bespoke quad tailpipes.

The visual alterations are not there just for show, because the performance kits include a power tweak for the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that dials the credentials to 612 hp and 840 Nm of torque – well in excess of the 577 hp-capable AMG GT R. The model now negotiates the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 3.7 seconds and catches the wave at 330 km/h (205 mph). The new bright blue shade is complimented by the 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy wheels clad in 275/35 and 305/30 Yokohama Advan Sport tires.
