The Italian based car design company Pininfarina has recently revealed the Cambiano Concept, ahead of its official debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show on the 6th of March.
After teasing it several times over the last weeks, Pininfarina has finally decided that time has come for the Cambiano Concept to be fully revealed, even if the model will be officially presented to the public on the 6th of March at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. According to Pininfarina, the Cambiano Concept has been made using sustainable materials like the plantation wood in the cabin.
The design company has surprised us all and besides revealing the Cambiano Concept, Pininfarina has also announced some technical details on it. Pininfarina says that the Cambiano Concept is an electric plug-in with range extender, being powered by four electric motors which are generating 60 kW each, and a diesel-powered turbine is acting as a generator when the batteries are running low. The 0 to 62 mph acceleration takes just 4.2 seconds and the top speed is 170 mph. The model will be able to travel on electric mode for around 125 miles.
The Pininfarina Cambiano Concept has been made in order to commemorate the Italian firm’s double anniversary, 30 years of the Styling Centre, whose operations started in Cambiano, back in 1982, and 10 years of the Engineering Centre , which has been inaugurated in 2002.
