Pininfarina has recently released the first official images with the brand new Sergio Concept, after the model was unveiled during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, in a world premiere.
The Pininfarina Sergio Concept is based on the Ferrari 458 Spider and it was inspired by the 1965 Dino Prototype. The Pininfarina Sergio Concept is 4,550 mm long, 1,940 mm wide and 1,140 mm tall and it has an interior design identical to the one of the Ferrari 458 Spider, but its carbon fiber body is actually 10 percent lighter than the aluminum panels used on the supercar.
“The capacity of taking an existing car and making a unique product reinforces our coachbuilding roots. The concept encapsulates the three basic values of Pininfarina’s DNA – elegance purity and innovation. The fourth value is emotion: elegant, pure design but always expressed through emotion”, said the Pininfarina design director, Fabio Fillipini.
Even if it was officially presented to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show for the first time, Pininfarina didn’t announce any performance details on the Sergio Concept just yet, and our guess is that the model will probably make its way to other automotive events across the globe this year, like the 2013 New York Auto Show, which will open its gates later on this month.
