Owning a Ferrari in the future will become much easier as the Maranello based automaker is planning to introduce a new entry-level model.
If you want the cheapest Ferrari money can buy these days than the California is what the doctor has ordered but things are about to change in the future as the company will be introducing a new entry-level model. The announcement hasn’t been made official at this time but according to Motor Trend (Twitter), citing a source inside Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ferrari will be developing a brand new model.
According to our source, the new Ferrari entry-level sports car will slot below the current California and it will be coming with a twin turbo V6 engine. The model in question will be rivaling the McLaren 570S, the Porsche 911 Turbo S, the Audi R8 and the Mercedes-AMG GT, amongst others. Rumor has it that the entry-level Ferrari sports car will be launched in 2019 and it should cost about 180,000 USD.
The current California T is a facelift of the previous model and, besides the regular visual tweaks, the sports car has also received a brand new 3.9 liter twin turbo V8 engine under its hood, which is capable of producing 552 HP (412 kW) and 557 lb-ft of torque. The unit is connected to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission which is allowing the model to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and it can go all the way up to 315 km/h (196 mph).
