Porsche’s Sales Surged in the First Half of 2012 image

Porsche reported sales up 14% to 69,171 units in the first half of 2012, and in June sales were up 18.9% to 12,699 units.

“Porsche successfully continued on its growth path in the first half of the year,” said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG. “With regard to the European Economic in particular, we will continue to monitor developments closely and respond quickly if necessary. Nevertheless, we are currently planning for double-digit growth in 2012.”

From January to June Porsche sold 14,338 units of the 911 model, 15,601 Panamera units, 34,727 Cayenne units and 4,505 representing other models. Porsche reported global sales growth of 14% to 69,171 units. In Europe sales were up 20% to 26,024, in Germany sales were up 21% to 9,536 vehicles, in Asia Pacific sales increased 17% to 23,948 cars, in China sales were up 25% to 15,274 units.

Last week, the brand’s owners, parent firm Porsche Automobil Holding and Volkswagen agreed to fully integrate Porsche’s sportscar unit into VW’s stable of brands beginning August 1st.
