The first renderings with the so-called Porsche 918 Coupe have recently hit the web and we must admit that the model looks as good as its drop-top brother.
After it was officially unveiled a few weeks ago, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Porsche 918 Spyder is now being envisioned as a coupe, even if the German based automaker didn’t announce any plans for this version. Theophilus Chin has envisioned the Porsche 918 Coupe with the same lines as its convertible version but from the start, we can see the fixed roof and the gullwing doors.
Whether or not Porsche will decide to put such a vehicle into production remains to be seen, but if it does, then the model will get the same 4.6 liter naturally aspirated V8 petrol engine under its hood, backed up by two electric motors, each on one axle, just like in the 918 Spyder. The total output of the powerplant stands at 887 HP (652 kW) and 917 Nm of torque (676 lb-ft), but the torque figure can even go up to 1,289 Nm (944 lb-ft), depending on the gear ratio. Power is sent to the AWD system through a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The average fuel consumption stands at 3.0 L / 100 km.
