The Porsche 918 Spyder has been recently taken around the famous German track the Nurburgring where it managed to finish a lap in just 7 minutes and 14 seconds.
Back in July, the German based automaker was announcing that the company is aiming to bring a supercar on the Nurburgring which will be able to lap the track in less than 7 minutes and 22 seconds and now Christmas came earlier for the carmaker, after it managed to do a lap of the circuit in just 7 minutes and 14 seconds. Unfortunately Porsche didn’t release the video with this “attempt” so we will have to take their word for it.
As a quick reminder, the Porsche 918 Spyder will be powered by a hybrid powertrain, which will use a 4.6 liter V8 engine producing 570 horsepower, two electric motors and a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The first electric motor will power the front wheels and the second one will be a part of the transmission assembly, sending its power to the rear axle. The combined output of hybrid powertrain will be 770 horsepower and the model will be able to travel for at least 25 km in a full electric mode at speeds up to 150 km/h.
