The German based automaker Porsche has officially released new images with the impressive 918 Spyder hybrid supercar.
After pulling the wraps off its body just a few months ago, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, in September, in its final production form, the carmaker is placing the new Porsche 918 Spyder into the spotlights once again, this time with the help of some images, which are showing the model in a new shade. The Porsche 918 Spyder is the company’s first ever hybrid supercar and the model is rivaling with the new Ferrari LaFerrari and with the McLaren P1.
Power to the Porsche 918 Spyder is being provided by a 4.6 liter naturally aspirated V8 gasoline engine, backed up by two electric motors, one on each axle. The total output produced by the vehicle stands at 887 HP (652 kW) and the peak torque is 1,289 Nm (944 lb-ft). This is enough to allow the hybrid supercar to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.7 seconds and from 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 7.2 seconds.
