Porsche has brought the pre-production version of the 918 Spyder to the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The newest and most impressive model Porsche has ever created, the 918 Spyder, in its pre-production form, has been officially presented to the public during the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The model in question has been on static display and it’s getting ready to be unveiled, in its final production version, next month, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Porsche 918 Spyder will compete with the Ferrari LaFerrari and the McLaren P1, shown back in March, at the Geneva Motor Show.
Power to the new Porsche 918 Spyder is believed to be provided by a 4.6 liter V8 engine, backed up by two electric motors. The total output produced by the hybrid powertrain will stand at approximately 885 HP, with the internal combustion engine developing over 600 HP and the two electric motors generating 150 HP each. The 0 to 60 mph sprint is expected to stand at 2.8 seconds and top speed will be 210 mph. Additional details on the Porsche 918 Spyder are limited for the moment and will be announced in Frankfurt, on the 10th of September.
