Porsche 918 Spyder to get HTML5-based infotainment system image

The German based automaker Porsche is planning to introduce a brand new HTML5-based infotainment system for the upcoming Spyder “green” supercar.

The 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show is coming in pretty fast and the event will mark the official debut of one of the most impressive supercars the market has seen, the Porsche 918 Spyder. But just when we thought that we knew just about everything about the new German supercar, a rumor pops up and says that the model will get an HTML5-based infotainment system. This should offer better smartphone integration, improved internet access and also the advantages of traditional infotainment systems.

Additional details on 918 Spyder’s infotainment system are limited for the moment but as a quick reminder, the model in question will be powered by a 4.0 liter V8 engine, backed up by electric motors, producing a total output of 795 HP and 575 lb-ft of torque. The 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration will be done in less than 3.0 seconds and top speed will stand at just over 200 mph (320 km/h). The model should return 94.1 mpg UK and the CO2 emissions should stand at 70 g/km. More details on the hybrid supercar are limited for the moment and will probably be announced close to its debut.
