A Porsche 997 Turbo sports car has been recently crashed in Austria, during the Gumball 3000 rally, after the driver lost control of the wheel on a wet road.
We have always said here on inautonews.com that where ever there will be exotic cars there will also be exotic car crashes and the latest example of such an unfortunate incident is coming all the way from Austria, where a Porsche 997 Turbo has definitely seen better days. But this isn’t your ordinary expensive car crash because the sports car in question has seen its end during the famous Gumball 3000 rally.
According to the guys at GT Spirit, the Porsche 997 Turbo has been crashed in Austria, on the A2 highway, near Villach, on the way to the final checkpoint in Monte Carlo. Another participant to the Gumball 3000 has told our source that both the driver and passenger of the Porsche 997 Turbo have escaped without any injuries, which is more than we can say about their ride. The sports car belongs to the Team 44. This is actually the third crash of this Gumball edition, after a Lamborghini Murcielago and a Ferrari 458 Italia.
