Porsche is planning to introduce a coupe version of the Cayenne over the following years as the model in question should become a rival to the BMW X6.
While Mercedes-Benz is currently developing the MLC and Land Rover having the Range Rover Sport, Porsche’s answer to the BMW X6 will be called the Cayenne Coupe. The model in question is said to be in development and it should hit the web sometimes in 2018. According to the guys at Autocar, the new Porsche Cayenne Coupe will be based on the third generation of the model and it will come with a five-door liftback package, along with a coupe-like roofline.
Our source is saying that the new Porsche Cayenne Coupe will be borrowing some styling cues from the 918 Spyder but this is very hard to imagine. An interior borrowed from the regular Cayenne, along with a narrower glasshouse and a sloping roofline are expected, along with a decreased ride height. The Cayenne Coupe will come in Turbo and GTS models, along with the Turbo S, with its more than 550 HP (410 kW), being provided by a V8 twin turbo gasoline burner. More details on the Porsche Cayenne Coupe are limited for the moment.
