Porsche AG, the maker of the iconic 911 sports cars boosted its deliveries by 14.1 per cent compared with the same month the year before: the sports car manufacturer delivered 13,331 new cars to customers worldwide.
The German automaker sold 56,472 vehicles (+13.0 %) this year.
Porsche posted sales gains in all world regions, including a 22.6 percent increase in Europe, the company said on Wednesday.
In the United States the maker of Cayenne SUVs and the Panamera four-door sports sedan line-up sold 2,852 vehicles. This compares to 2,817 vehicles last May, for an increase of one percent. For the year, Porsche has sold 13,448 cars in the U.S., which is a three percent increase over last year’s sales of 12,996.
“In May, we notched up the greatest number of customer deliveries in our company’s history,” said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG.
“We managed growth especially in the European market – despite the generally downward trend. With the 911, the new Boxster and the Cayenne GTS, we continue our product offensive.”
