Porsche has registered the 919 name image

The German based automaker Porsche has recently registered the 919 name at a German patent office and this means that a new sports car will make its way onto the market soon.

The company’s CEO Matthias Mueller has confirmed just a few days ago that the carmaker will produce the German based automaker has registered the 919 name and this can only mean one thing: the company will use it on a new model. No details on what vehicle will wear the 919 name for the moment but Porsche has a lot of choices.

The Porsche officials have to decide on producing a new sports car, which will be slotted between the 911 and the 918 Spyder sometimes next year, as well as developing a new entry-level sedan, which is expected to wear the Pajun name. Besides these two, the carmaker will also launch the Macan crossover at the end of 2014, which will be a smaller version of the Cayenne. The production version of the 918 Spyder will also make its way onto the market.
