Porsche Macan going to L.A. Auto Show image

The German based automaker Porsche will unveil the brand new Macan SUV in late 2013, during the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The brand new Porsche Macan will be officially presented to the public, in a premiere, later on this year, during the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. The announcement has been made by a Porsche insider and it was published by Auto Express. The new Porsche Macan is expected to go on sale in early 2014, as a 2015 model year, and its starting price should be set at approximately 36,000 GBP. The Macan might become the company’s best-selling model, considering its price.

The Porsche Macan will ride on the same MLB platform which is also underpinning the Audi Q5 and some other models, and it will be offered exclusively with four-wheel drive. The crossover will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines, including the turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder unit with 220 HP, the 3.6 liter V6 naturally aspirated with 296 HP or the 3.0 liter twin-turbo V6 with 370 HP which will be known as the Macan Turbo. Diesel options will include a 2.0 liter TDI engine producing 190 HP and a larger 3.0 liter V6 TDI with 250 HP. A hybrid powertrain is also expected to make its way into the Porsche Macan, which will be probably “borrowed” from the Audi Q5 Hybrid.
