Porsche Macan’s four-cylinder engine will not be offered in the U.S. image

Porsche has no plans of offering the upcoming four-cylinder engine on the Macan in the United States, once this version will become available for order on the Old Continent, and not only.

The development of a Porsche Macan, equipped with a four-cylinder engine, which will be offered as a new entry-level, is no longer a surprise for anyone who is closely monitoring the automotive news but according to the guys at Car and Driver, such a variant will not become available for order in the United States. We’re not sure why this decision has been made but we know that neither the gasoline or diesel powered four-cylinder unit will be introduced to the U.S.

However, Americans concerned in the increased fuel price will be able to order the new Porsche Macan in the Macan S Diesel form. This basically means that the new mid-size SUV will receive the 3.0 liter V6 unit under its hood, which is producing a total output of 258 HP (192 kW) and 580 Nm (428 lb-ft) of torque. This is enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in just 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph). Prices for the Macan S Diesel should be cheaper than the ones of its petrol version.
