The German based automaker Porsche is currently considering developing a GT3 version of the new Cayman generation, which might hit the market soon.
The 2014 Porsche Cayman might receive a GT3 version, as the car manufacturer is currently considering this option. The announcement has been made by the chief engineer of the new 911 GT3 generation, during the public reveal of the 911 GT3. The model is expected to be as successful as the 911 GT3 if it will indeed hit the market. A final decision of producing the Cayman GT3 hasn’t been taken just yet and it might never be, but we won’t shatter your dreams just yet.
As a quick reminder, the 2014 Porsche Cayman has been officially presented to the public in a premiere, during the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. The new generation of the Porsche Cayman is powered by a 2.7 liter flat six-cylinder engine, which is producing a total output of 275 HP (202 kW), which is allowing the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 266 km/h (165 mph). Fuel consumption averages between 7.7L/100km and 8.2L/100km. The Cayman S has a 3.4 liter six-cylinder with 325 HP (239 kW), being able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and reach 283 km/h (176 mph). Fuel consumption stands between 8.0 L / 100 km and 8.8 L / 100 km.
