German carmaker Porsche has officially confirmed the debut of the 2015 911 Targa model at the 2014 North American Motor Show next week in Detroit, Michigan.
The new model was spotted by our spy photographers, and today we published a leaked image showing the model completely undisguised.
As expected the 2015 Porsche 911 Targa will feature a fixed roll bar crossing the center section of the vehicle; In front lies a power soft top roof while the back features a glass encasement and wraparound rear window.
“The new model features the distinctive Targa bar, a movable center roof section and a wrap-around rear window combined with innovative technical solutions that make it a true modern classic,” Porsche said in the official statement.
For the moment the German automaker hasn’t revealed any details about the engine line-up, but most probably the vehicle will come with two flat-six engine options. The base 911 Targa model will feature a 3.4-liter flat-six engine good for 350 hp, while the ”S” model will come with the 3.8-liter flat-six engine capable of 400hp.
Porsche will continue to offer the 7-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the brilliant 7-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox will be offered as an option. On the same time, customers will be able to choose between the standard rear-wheel drive model and the “4” model that will feature Porsche’s all-wheel drive system.
Sales should commence somewhere in spring
