The German aftermarket specialists at Ruf have recently presented their latest creation, based on the Porsche Panamera and named the XL, which will hit the Chinese auto market.
After the German based automaker Porsche was planning to introduce a long wheelbase version of the Panamera in the nearby future, the tuners at Ruf have moved faster and the XL variant, based on the same luxurious model, will be officially launched in China. Porsche is also planning to introduce the long-wheelbase Panamera in China too, later this year, and the model is actually expected to be just 4.7 inches longer than the Ruf version.
The Porsche Panamera XL developed by Ruf has a total length of 5.370 mm and it’s standing on an extended platform with wider B-pillars and longer rear doors. The wheelbase is now 3.320 mm long, 400 mm longer than the standard version (15.7 inches). In order to carry the additional weight, the 4.8 liter V8 engine has been tweaked and it’s now developing a total output of 414 horsepower and a peak torque of 510 Nm (376 lb-ft).
Besides the long wheelbase XL based on the Porsche Panamera, Ruf is also introducing the Freiheit (Freedom), which is based on the Porsche Cayenne SUV. The Ruf Freiheit is coming with just a new body kit and the model is powered by the same V8 engine as the XL.
