The German based automaker Porsche is planning to introduce a 911 Safari off-road concept during the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, in April.
Porsche wants to take the lead in developing a brand new sports car which can be used in off-roading too and the concept version of the model will be officially presented to the public during the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. The announcement hasn’t been made officially by the company and it’s actually part of a report hinted by the German automotive media. The model in question will have to deal with poor road conditions in China, Russia, South America and the Middle East.
According to the guys at Auto Bild, the new Porsche 911 off-roader will wear the Safari name and this has been inspired by the 1978 911 SC Safari rally car. The model in question will receive some underbody cladding, a raised suspension system, beefier tires and an all-wheel drive system. The Porsche 911 Safari Concept will be based on the all-wheel drive Carrera 4S and if it will be well received, than chances are that the company will put it into production over the following years. More details on the subject are limited for the moment and will probably be announced in Beijing, next year.
