The German based automaker Porsche is apparently planning to develop an RS version of the recently unveiled Cayman GT4.
The brand new Cayman GT4 is getting ready to receive a newer and hotter version which should be called the Cayman GT4 RS. The model in question hasn’t been officially confirmed at this time but it has been hinted by Andreas Preuninger, the Porsche Motorsport boss, who has recently spoken to the guys from EVO.
“This is just the beginning of the era. I would be interested in doing a Cayman GT4 RS version, but at the moment we didn’t even talk about such a thing. If the customers call for something like this we could think about it”, said the Porsche official to our source.
The new Porsche Cayman GT4 has been officially presented to the public during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The model in question has an aggressive body kit, with sporty side scoops, a larger rear splitter, a fixed rear wing, a front splitter, mesh grille inserts, a 30 mm reduced ride height, a dual exhaust system, high performance braking system and more.
Under its hood, we can find the 3.8 liter six-cylinder engine, producing 385 HP (283 kW) at 7,400 rpm and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque, available between 4,750 rpm and 6,000 rpm. The unit is connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the Porsche Cayman GT4 needs 4.4 seconds and top speed is 295 km/h (183 mph). Prices for the sports car have been set at 85,779 euros, VAT included, in Germany. This can lap the Ring in just 7m and 40s.
