Porsche Reports September Sales Up 13% image

Porsche reported sales up 12.6% in September to 11, 888 units, compared with the same period last year.

From January to September the automaker managed to sell 104,362 vehicles, up 14.7%, compared with 90,972 vehicles sold during the same period last year.

“In September, Porsche continues to grow at the global level”, said Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG. “This demonstrates the success of our international demand-driven sales management. Even in challenging times, we remain true to our business model.”

The Chinese market accounted for the majority of Porsche’s sales, with 2,818 cars delivered to customers in this country, up 31.3% from September 2011. In the US sales saw an increase of 26.1% to 2,736 vehicles, while Europe’s sales saw a slightly drop, as it was expected. Russia was a pleasant surprise for Porsche, which saw its sales increase with more than 90%.

The best-sold model was the Cayenne with 6,495 units, followed by the 911 with 1,809 sales, an increase of 22.2% and the Boxter with 1,120 vehicles, up 71.8%.
