With all the major car manufacturers taking a big forward step into developing new models, most of them eco-friendly, Porsche is announcing a new member in its line-up, which will be place above the 911.
The new model has been announced in an interview of the Porsche CEO Matthias Muller with “Car and Driver”, who said that the new supercar will be placed between the 911 and 918, and it will be fitted “in a price segment of 400.000 euros”, as the company official explained.
According to Matthias Muller, the new Porsche will use the same components and architecture as the next generation of Audi and Lamborghini.
The new Porsche model will develop around 600 horsepower and the 0 to 60 mph sprint is expected to take three or four seconds, with the car’s top speed in the 200 mph area.
The possible 961 badge could be fitted on the new model which will go into Porsche’s line-up, as a direct competitor for Ferrari 458 Italia.
