The ultimate version of the Evora model, with the Lotus badge on it, in a concept version, will make its official debut at this Sunday’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The Evora GTE Road Car Concept is based on the Evora GTE race car which completed the 24 Hours Le Mans, and it is powered by the same 3.5 liter Toyota V6 engine, which was modified to develop 420 BHP, connected to a sequential AMT racing gearbox. Performance figures of the concept haven’t been made public yet but it is expected to outrun the Evora S, which is capable of hitting a top speed of 172 mph.
“Lotus Evora GTE is a race car developed with a single-minded aim to be successful in the new global motorsport GTE category which includes the world famous Le Mans 24 Hours. The Evora GTE Road Car Concept isn’t merely a paint scheme or homage to a race car, this is a serious race car that makes for a very serious road car”, as the British manufacturer explains.
Besides the Evora GTE Road Car Concept, Lotus will also present, at the same Pebble Beach event, a special edition of the Exige, limited to 25 units and created exclusively for North America, which will be developing 257 BHP and have a Matte Black paint finish along with Alcantara sport seats.
