A pre-production version of the Porsche 918 Spyder has been showcased in Germany at the 2012 Gran Turismo Nurburgring Evo event.
According to the German based automaker, the Porsche 918 Spyder, which was showcased at the 2012 Gran Turismo Nurburgring Evo event, was a pre-production development model which was wearing race-inspired livery and the number 13 on its body. The Porsche 918 Spyder in question had an impressive exterior design and it managed to attract a lot of attention, but not as much as the final production version of the supercar will once it will hit the market in September 2013.
The final production version of the Porsche 918 Spyder will get a 4.6 liter V8 engine under its hood, along with a hybrid drivetrain and all-electric capabilities, which is linked to a dual-clutch PDK transmission which should develop a total output of almost 770 HP (574 kW). The Porsche 918 Spyder will get two electric motors and it should burn an average of 3 liters of fuel every 100 km (78.4 mpg US / 94.1 mpg UK) and, thanks to its 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, the supercar should travel on electricity alone up to 25 km (15.5 miles) at a top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph).
