BMW has officially released the first images and details with the next generation of the 7-Series flagship.
Petrol heads have a lot of expectations from the next generation of the BMW 7-Series and most of them are already saying that this is going to be way better than one of its main competitors, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The new generation of the flagship model signed by the Bavarian car manufacturer has put aside its regular spy shots and its is now returning in some fresh images partially revealing the interior design and some of the gadgets which will be found on it.
According to the car manufacturer, the 2016 BMW 7-Series will be weighing up to 130 kg less than its predecessor thanks to the used of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) which was first seen on the i series and it will be getting the newest generation of six-cylinder engines, connected to the eight-speed Steptronic transmission. The two-axle air suspension with automatic self-leveling will also be found on the flagship model.
Some of the other features which will be found on the next-gen 7-Series also include the remote control parking system which is allowing owners to maneuver the car in and out of parking spaces or garages without anyone behind the wheel and part of the system will be the new BMW Display Key, which will control the entire operation. The vehicle will also come with gesture control technology and with a touch screen display for the iDrive infotainment system. The 2016 BMW 7-Series is believed to be introduced at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in September, but this hasn’t been confirmed at this time.
