Nissan has recently announced its plans to offer the previous generation of the Rogue alongside the new one, but with a different name, the Rogue Select.
The 2014 Nissan Rogue has been officially presented to the public last month, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, but in the company’s vision, the previous version of the model is apparently as good as this new one, because it will still be offered for sale. The model in question will be known as the Rogue Select and it will be sold alongside the new generation of the vehicle.
“As the compact SUV segment is becoming very specialized, there is an opening for a low-cost, high-content offering, which is a gap that Rogue Select will fill. The Rogue Select will allow Nissan to continue its strong performance in the segment, which will only get stronger once the all-new, U.S.-built 2014 Rogue goes on sale”, said Fred Diaz, the North America Sales and Marketing divisional vice president.
The 2014 Nissan Rogue Select will get a base price of 20,000 USD over-seas, once the model will go on sale in January, and rumors are saying that it will get a 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine under its hood, which is good for 170 HP (126 kW) and 237 Nm of torque (175 lb-ft). More details on the model will be announced close to its launch.
