The US marquee has announced the prices for the 2017 model year incarnations of its hottest versions of the new generation Camaro – the SS 1LE kicking off at $44,400 and the mighty ZL1 which can be had for at least $62,135.
The 2017 Camaro owners can be proud they have two very natural performance flavors to play with – the hotter version of the regular model, the 1LE pack that comes as a $4,500 option for the V6 and $6,500 on the V8 or the very powerful 650-horsepower ZL1 coming as a coupe for $62,135 after destination and as an open top for $69,135. Let’s first look at the options for owners looking for more without breaking the bank – the 1LE package. Go for the option in the V6 and you can have it from $31,800, with a wide range of performance enhancements, such as the SS suspension four-piston Brembo calipers at the front, a limited slip differential, upgraded cooling, and 20-inch wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.
More money will get you even more performance in the V8-powered SS with the 1LE package, going for $44,400 and borrowing some of the ZL1 amenities – suspension elements (Magnetic Ride dampers, springs, and stabilizer bars), the electronic limited-slip differential, or six-piston Brembo calipers in front with bigger rotors. More importantly, the ZL1 Camaro is the most powerful iteration currently available from the manufacturer itself. It has the Corvette Z06 LT4 supercharged 6.2-liter V8 and has the choice of a regular six-speed manual or the brand new 10-speed automatic gearbox. Numerous improvements, both outside and inside will make sure the power will be visible and easy to harness.
