If you live in the UK and you have to own a 2016 Toyota Prius, now you know exactly how much you need to spend.
Every “green” enthusiast loves the Prius and with prices starting from £23,295, you can now order the 2016 model if we are from the UK. The hybrid icon is one its fourth generation, with deliveries starting from March next year. For that starting price you will get the basic Active trim, but with a lot of standard equipment, including dual-zone climate control, an infotainment system, dual 4.2-inch colour multi-info screens, adaptive cruise control and LED headlights. The safety systems are also plentiful: Lane Departure, Alert, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beam and Forward Collision Warning with Autonomous Emergency Braking.
For £24,195 you will move one trim up, the Business Edition coming with heated front seats, head-up display, Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert and systems. A notch up, the Business Edition Plus will cost you £25,995, coming with extras like full parking and satellite navigation. The top range version is called Excel and brings among other goodies a JBL sound system and full leather. The price for a full equipped Prius is £27,450.
In terms of drivetrain technology, the Prius retains the same 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine heavily revised to improve thermal efficiency and reduce friction, help by an electric motor and a separate electric power unit for the rear wheels. The e-4WD system will improve stability in not so favourable conditions, but will work only at speeds up to 60 km/h.
