The French brand has decided to give the new generation C3 to its home market customers starting from €12,950, with first deliveries scheduled after the Paris Motor Show.
It appears the new C3 is not only spectacularly different but also cheaper than the old one – the 2016 Citroen C3 Attraction goes for €13,600 in France while the new 2017 Citroen C3 Live will be €650 more accessible – certainly worth the wait. Afterwards, two additional higher-specked trims can be configured – the mid Feel and upscale Shine. Customization options are very impressive as well – 9 exterior shades, three colors for the roof and those Airbumps can also be painted differently.
While it certainly looks like a reduced version of the C4 Cactus, the new C3 is not a true crossover and has front-wheel-drive supermini credentials all around. The engine lineup begins with the three cylinder PureTech packing just 68 PS – and the same mill can be had with 82 and 110 PS. The BlueHDi turbodiesel options are the well known 75 PS and 100 PS versions, and following the first deliveries slated for October the C3 will also become available with the EAT6 automated transmission as an alternative to the standard manual gearbox. The Airbumps are optional on the Feel trim and standard on the Shine guise and the C3 also packs a panoramic sunroof, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, park assist, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, road sign recognition, and ConnectedCAM.
