If your dream is to own a royal car, now is your chance, as the 1994 Audi Quattro convertible, once owned by Princess Diana is up for auction.
The British auction house Coys will put Princess Diana’s 1994 Audi Quattro convertible up for auction in late June. The auction house said it has received numerous enquiries from possible customers around the world, before the sales has even been made public. The bidding will begin at the Blenheim Palace on June 29th.
If a 1994 Audi Cabriolet might fetch between $5,000 to $8,000 at auction, don’t expect the same price for this exemplary taking into consideration its former owner. Until the auction, the royal vehicle will be displayed in London at the Grange St. Paul’s Hotel.
“This is an extraordinary opportunity to own a piece of Royal History. We have put a guide price on the car of between £20,000 and £25,000 but we have no idea what it will go for,“ said Chris Routledge, managing director of Coys.
The price between $31,000 and $38,000 seems quite conservative taking into consideration the popularity of Princess Di. The vehicle to be auctioned has only 21,000 miles on the odometer and visitors coming at the Grange St. Paul’s Hotel have the opportunity to leave a sealed bid for the car, which will get to the auctioneer during the official sale.
“Although we have not formally released the fact that the car was for sale until this press release we have already had enquiries from around the world and particularly from America,” added Routledge of Coys.
