The production-ready version of the Ford Escort has been officially unveiled in China as the model in question will be presented to the public at the 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show.
Ford has introduced the first images with the production-ready version of the Escort in China recently, as the model in question will be making its public debut later on this month, during the 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show. The new Ford Escort will slot between the Ford Fiesta and the Ford Focus and it will be a rival for models like the Skoda Rapid.
The vehicle is coming with the similar Aston Martin like front grille, seen on the Fiesta, Focus and the Mondeo, with the Focus-like headlights, with a minimalistic interior design, a Connect Radio system, six airbags, Bluetooth and several other tweaks. Power is being provided by a 1.5 liter Ti-VCT gasoline burner with four cylinders, rated at 115 HP (85 kW) and 142 Nm (105 lb-ft) of torque, being connected to a 5-speed manual transmission or to a 6-speed automatic. The new Ford Escort will go on sale on the 20th of January, 2015, and it is believed to start from 90,000 yuan or the equivalent of 14,715 USD.
