The production version of the Gumpert Tornante has been scheduled to be officially unveiled in 2015.
The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet, but according to the guys at telegraaf.nl, the supercar in question is close to hitting the production line. The model will be based on the concept car wearing the same name, which was officially unveiled back in 2011, during the Geneva Motor Show, produced with Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. A few images with this vehicle in its “production version” have also leaked a couple of years ago, revealing it from several angles.
The Gumpert Tornante will be riding on the Apollo platform and it will look different than the concept car. Sadly this is all we’ve got on the model for the moment, but the one-off vehicle came with an Audi-source twin turbo V8 engine, which was producing 690 HP (515 kW). The 1,300 – 1,400 kg weighing supercar could have reached well past 300 km/h (186 mph).
“The new model should not only offer ample performance and superb dynamic properties and aerodynamics, but also adequate levels of comfort, interior space and ergonomics. The spirit of a true dream car, but with sufficient practical features to become a safe and useable sports car in today’s traffic”, said Gumpert in its official press release back in 2011.
