The final production version of the Peugeot 208 GTI has been recently spied completely undisguised, ahead of its official debut at this month’s 2012 Paris Motor Show.
After being officially presented to the public in a world premiere in a concept form during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the Peugeot 208 GTI is being placed into the spotlights one more time. The guys at autocar.co.uk have recently managed to capture the new hot hatch while it was being tested and we can see that it doesn’t have any camouflage on its body. What is mostly interesting about this 208 GTI is the fact that this is the final production version of the model, which will debut in Paris.
As a quick reminder, the Peugeot 208 GTI Concept was powered by the company’s 1.6 liter turbocharged engine, shared by the RCZ THP 200, which was developing a total output of 197 horsepower and it had a peak torque of 175 Nm (203 lb-ft). The unit is mated to a six-speed manual transmission which is helping the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than seven seconds. More details on the final production version of the Peugeot 208 GTI will be announced later on this month at the Paris Motor Show.
