The first spy shots showing the production version of the SsangYong XLV have been provided to us, by our photographers, who have managed to catch the model on camera in northern Sweden.
SsangYong has recently announced its plans to introduce an XLV Concept during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, next month, but it seems that the car manufacturer has bigger plans for this model, because we can now say for sure that it will hit the production line. The new SsangYong XLV, or whatever it will be named like once it will become available for order, will rival with models like the Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008, Nissan Juke, Chevrolet Trax, Ford EcoSport, Opel Mokka and others.
The model in question will be incorporating some of the design elements of the SsangYong XIV-2 concept, which was first seen in 2012, during the Beijing Auto Show. The model will be taking its power from a 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine, which will be mated to either a six-speed manual or a CVT. The new SsangYong small crossover will be aimed, at first, towards the Chinese automotive market, but don’t act to surprised if you will see it in European showrooms in the future too.
