A production version of the Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe concept is believed to make its way onto the European market.
The announcement hasn’t been made official but according to the guys at Auto News Europe, who have had a quick chat with an unnamed VW spokesman, the CrossBlue Coupe will make its way onto the Old Continent too, in production form. This comes as a surprise considering the fact that the German based automaker originally said that the model in question will be aimed exclusively at the United States, but a final decision on this hasn’t been made just yet.
The VW CrossBlue Coupe Concept has been originally unveiled in Shanghai, this April, and it was also taken to the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. The model in question is taking its power from a 3.0 liter V6 TSI engine, backed up by two electric motors. The total output stands at 409 HP (305 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, sent to the FWD, AWD or RWD through a six-speed dual clutch transmission. The CrossBlue Coupe Concept can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 236 km/h (146 mph).
