The Chinese-Israeli joint venture Qoros has officially pulled the wraps off a brand new model, the 3 Hatch, ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
The new Qoros 3 Hatch has received a design which was inspired from the 3 Sedan, but with a hatchback layout. Some minor tweaks have been made to the front grille and to the fog lights but the overall look of the model is mimicking the sedan’s design.
“The new Qoros 3 Hatch will appeal to the modern metropolitan always-connected customer who needs a little extra versatility provided by the hatchback body style. It offers those with active outdoor lifestyles or young families extra practicality, combined with added coolness thanks to its more spirited, sporty look”, said Volker Steinwascher, the Qoros vice chairman.
The Qoros 3 Hatch has a shorter overhang which has reduced the overall length by 177 mm to a total of 4,438 mm. The interior design of the model has been also carried over and it includes the 8-inch touch screen display, offered as standard. Power to the model will be provided by a 1.6 liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, which will be offered in naturally aspirated and turbocharged form. This will be mated to an automatic dual clutch or to a 6-speed manual transmission. The Qoros 3 Hatch will be produced along with the 3 Sedan at the Changshu, China, facility.
