The British exotic automaker knows how to entice us – and there’s no James Bond reference in sight, only a complete, bonkers racing experience that is as close as the world of Formula One as one can arguably get without being a team driver.
Aston Martin has the Valkyrie to fight all upcoming hypercars, but it’s also going to do battle on the famous tracks of the world – because next to the 150 examples of the crazy machine, there will be another 25 units of the even more hardcore, crazier Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro. This race track exclusive racer hasn’t been detailed in full, but from what we officially know so far we’re actually a bit jittery even at the thought of its existence. Aston Martin promises – as we can see from the sketch – an entire family of aerodynamic improvements, an extensive weight loss program as well as more power extracted from the hybrid assembly, in order to hit 250 mph on straights, and above all else thunder at 3.3 gs during cornering and 3.5gs during braking thanks to the F1-inspired carbon-carbon brakes.
Aston Martin did reveal it will employ “revised active aerodynamic control strategies”, an even lighter carbon fiber body construction, suspension components made out of the same feathery material, polycarbonate windows and the lack of any creature comfort features – not even heating. Meanwhile, the 6.5-liter V12 mill is tasked with more horsepower via significant” engine recalibration and tapping into the emission control system. The electric side remains unchanged, though. More so, each buyer is going through an extensive training regime, including simulator time and access to the same facilities used by Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s F1 team – complete with a series of dedicated racing events at tracks all over the world.
