Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena, today racked up their fifth consecutive victory in the WRC of Mexico; the second round of this year’s 2010 World Rally Championship.
This is his 63rd career win. Loeb has cross the line 24.2 seconds ahead of rival Petter Solberg.
“That was a very hard weekend. We’ve had nearly a perfect weekend,” says Loeb. “A few troubles, but not so much for a new car. The DS3 is very fast.” meanwhile, Mikko Hirvonen takes three points for winning the Power Stage.
Loeb said he felt sorry for Ogier, who led by 10 seconds going into the final day before breaking the front-left wheel of his car in Sunday’s opening trial.
“We are teammates but we are also rivals for the championship, and that’s the game,” Loeb said.
Ford ended a tough event with a double podium for Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala. Hirvonen dropped back while running first on the road on Friday – and was very perturbed when he carried on losing time even when he had a better road position for leg two
Loeb already won in Mexico in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2010.
The World Rally Championship consists of 13 events. After two rallies, Hirvonen leads the standings with 46 points.
